Our Story

Founded in 1987 by the late Mr. Elampoornam, HTSA has grown from a handful of families into a thriving community of 350+ students — safeguarding, promoting and upholding Tamil culture ever since.

A Legacy of Tamil Education

Harrow Tamil School Association (HTSA) is a non-political, non-profit, secular cultural and educational organisation that has been teaching the Tamil language and Fine Arts since 1987. Established by the late Mr. Elampoornam, our school was founded to safeguard, promote and uphold Tamil culture, and has grown from humble beginnings into one of the most sought-after Tamil schools in London.

A registered charity (no. 1080704) regulated by the UK Charity Commission, HTSA today serves over 350 students with more than 30 teachers. We offer comprehensive education in Tamil language from Nursery through to A-Level, alongside Fine Arts programmes including Bharathanaatiyam, instrumental music, and vocal training.

Every Saturday from 11:00 am to 4:30 pm at Whitmore High School in South Harrow, our vibrant community comes together to learn, grow, and celebrate Tamil culture. We are proud of our role in preserving and promoting Tamil heritage in the United Kingdom.
